Worry and anxiety about our dwindling retirement funds, stress over losing our jobs and our houses is consuming our whole country.
Many of us are terrified; we are under tremendous financial stress and worried to death about what will happen.
Watching the television news only increases our anxiety and worry. The news can be downright depressing. It does nothing but instill more fear and worry into our already fearful minds.
It is recommended that you limit your viewing of all news programs; they only create more worry, anxiety and stress. Instead, try watching funny sitcoms, westerns and romantic movies – they will make you feel much better.

How To Stop Worrying And Stop Anxiety
To put it all in perspective, take a moment and think about what worries you the most. Break it down into the things you can change and things you can not change.
Begin to make the changes that you can and stop worrying about the other things that you can’t control or change.
I know what you are thinking. Oh yeah, right! That is easier said than done. But how do I not worry? How do I stop worrying now?
Well, think about this. Does worrying ever change anything? Does it do any good.? No, it does not. So why should you do it?
This is something you need to keep telling yourself over and over. Worrying does not help and it never changes anything.
Each time you find yourself beginning to worry, remind yourself of this and turn your thoughts towards something positive. Picture yourself doing something fun, or visualize the gentle waves at the beach – anything that makes you feel happy.
It will be extremely hard to do at first, but the more you practice, the more your subconscious mind receives the message that you do not want this stress and anxiety in your mind. It becomes much easier the more you do it.

Worrying has become a bad habit that needs to be broken. You must train your mind not to do it anymore. You must stop worrying right now!

I have another suggestion Patti RE: worrying and Anxiety, the thing is it's widely believed that when we worry we start to breath shallow, so just to take a moment to actually focus on deeper breathing physically changes our mood. I suppose thats why meditation is very effective, and meditation can be just being still on a train and focusing on being still. Thanks for the Hub.
