There are many different cures for constipation, but all natural constipation remedies are the ones that are recommended. Eliminating constipation and avoiding the causes are as easy as adding a few foods to your daily diet.

Constipation is a sign that you are not eating the correct foods needed for proper body functions. Making these changes to your daily diet will ensure that your constipation is cured and that it won’t happen again.

Listed below are the best natural cures for constipation and recommendations for stopping future incidents from happening.

The Four Best Cures For Constipation

Here are the best cures for constipation:

Eat ground flaxseed.  Start the day with a bowel of oatmeal (not instant or quick cook) - use regular or steel cut oats - add two tablespoons of ground flaxseed.  To sweeten, add fruit such as blueberries or strawberries.

Flaxseed is full of beneficial fiber and is one of the best remedies for constipation.  If the oatmeal and flaxseed does not alleviate your constipation problem, later in the day you can add another two tablespoons of flaxseed to either a smoothie or yogurt.

Drink lots of water.  Drink a full glass as soon as you get up in the morning and drink a full glass every hour that you are awake.  Water will help flush your system of toxins and will lubricate you to make it easier to relieve your constipation.

Take psyllium husk tablets.  Psyllium husk is all natural fiber which will cure your constipation problem.  It comes in powder or caplet form.  The caplets are easier to use and you don’t have to worry about the taste.  Make sure you take them with a full glass of water.  Although psyllium husk is an all natural over the counter product, you should still check with your doctor before taking it.

Eat lots of fruit - especially fruit with lots of fiber such as apples, pairs, berries, peaches, prunes, grapes, papaya and tangerines.  Consuming fiber is one of the most important cures for constipation.  Also eat fiber rich vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach and other green leafy vegetables.

More Cures For Constipation

When you are trying to remedy your constipation, avoid processed foods, sugar, cheese and meats. Try to eat only whole grains (oatmeal, brown rice, barley), fruits, beans, vegetables and nuts. Once your constipation problems have been resolved, you should follow this same eating plan, but you can add meats, fish and cheese back into your diet.

You will find that exercising will help cure your constipation. Walking, jogging or other activities will help resume your body's natural balance. Maintain a daily thirty minute exercise program to keep from getting constipated again.

In summary, the cures for constipation are:

- Eat fiber rich ground flaxseed
- Drink more water
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
- Avoid processed foods, sugar, cheese and meats
- Take psyllium husk tablets
- Exercise

These are the best cures for constipation and to keep your body functions working properly.
