A front pet pouch carrier is one of the safest ways to carry your pet. Front pet carriers allow you to safely carry your pet just as you would a baby while you walk, shop or hike.

And since our pets are just like our babies, this is the perfect solution. You no longer have to leave your beloved pet at home, simply slip your pet into the front carrier and off you go.

Using a front backpack style carrier is comfortable for both you and your pet. It keeps your hands free to perform other tasks while keeping your pet safely against you.

Your pet will love being so close to you and at the same time being able to see what is happening all around them. Pets feel secure since they are snuggled close to your chest and tucked inside the pouch of a carrier.

Pet carriers are mainly used to carry small dogs, but some styles are also suitable for cats, ferrets and other small animals.

There are several different kinds of front pet pouch carriers. The most popular style is the legs out pet carrier made by Outward Hound. They are one of the most well known pet carrier manufacturers.

The Pet-A Roo front pet carrier is also a very popular carrier. Your pet rests inside the carrier and unlike the legs out carrier, your pet is totally inside the carrier with only their head sticking out.

The sling style front pet pouch carrier is another option. This carrier loops over your shoulder and your pet rests inside the pouch on your opposite hip. This is the most inexpensive style available.

The front pet carriers come in several different sizes. The small size usually accommodates pets up to ten pounds and the medium size will hold pets from ten to seventeen pounds.

Please be sure to check the manufacturer’s recommendations before purchasing to ensure that your pet will safely and comfortably fit inside.

Front Pet Pouch Carrier - Legs Out Outward Hound

This is one of the most popular carriers on the market today. It keeps your pet securely inside the pouch with their legs sticking out. Your pet is facing out so that they can see what is going on around them.

This is a high quality nylon carrier with many desirable features. The shoulder straps are padded for extra comfort and are also adjustable.

There are adjustable side straps which adjust to accommodate your pets torso.

The waist strap is also adjustable and the mesh panels allow air to reach your pet.

There are openings for your pets legs and tail. And for extra safety there are reflective stripes on the carrier.

Front Pet Pouch Carrier - The Pet A Roo

The Pet A Roo Front Pet Pouch Carrier is another popular pet carrier.

It is made of durable yet soft nylon fabric and features adjustable padded shoulder straps.

The sides are well ventilated for your pets comfort.

The bottom of the pouch is padded and there is a safety strap so that you can attach your pets harness or collar.

They come in a variety of colors - red, green, black and blue.

This soft pet carrier will keep your favorite pet nicely snuggled against you.

Front Pet Pouch Carrier - Sling Style

The sling style front pouch carrier is compact and quite like a sling purse.

You slip the strap over one shoulder and your pet sits inside the pouch which rests on your opposite hip.

There are many different fabrics and colors that you can choose from.

This carrier is the lowest priced front carrier option available.

This type of soft pet carrier is not quite as secure as the other two, but it may work just fine for you.

Hi Linda! I also had one for my son. I agree - however they are nice when you are in a crowded place - such as flea market.

LOL, I wouldn't want to carry a large dog around like this. We had one like this for our kids when they were babies, but never seen them for pets before. Does it not take the fun oit of walkies ? I say make your dog walk :)

Hello Wealthmadehealthy!! I also had one for my son. I always had large dogs too - but now we have a schnoodle - it's our first smaller dog.

LOL They have these for infants as well, I used to use one. And so much better than "putting them in a purse"

Great hub!!! (Altho I have large dogs, afraid I would step on a little bit lol)
